NE Meridian is a relatively homogeneous residential area with most developments being new to 20 year old planned developments with a few higher end Subdivisions to the North. Further south toward I-84 the area is more industrial and commercial with substantial retail shopping along the Fairview Ave and Eagle Rd corridors. This area borders I-84 on the south, Meridian Rd on the west, Chinden Ave (Hwy 20-26) on the north and Eagle Road on the east. There are bountiful family fun resources such as the YMCA, soccer fields, etc. There is good access to I-84 with interchanges at Meridian and Eagle roads but congestion is typical between residential areas and I-84. In general traffic congestion is worse than areas of South Meridian. Typical Commutes to Downtown Boise are 20-30 minutes depending on route taken and time of day. Chinden Ave (Hwy 20-26) is also a conduit to Downtown Boise.
